If you are a new dog owner, you’ll want to learn a few easy dog training tips as dog training is a basic step when teaching dog obedience. It is extremely important for all dogs to at least have some basic obedience as owners need to be able to have some amount of control over their dog.

Basic training is needed to exert even the smallest amount of control over your dog’s behavior. Dog training is very easy and effective as long as you keep the exercises simple, fun and short.

Puppies should begin their training as soon as possible, within the first month. Puppies learn a lot within the first month if their lives as they are experiencing their surroundings and learning new behaviors and habits. All family members should be involved in the training and everyone needs to agree on the regulations and rules involved with dog training. Proper training is a commitment and you want to do it right at the beginning, as retaining can be very challenging.

When training you should be as structured as you can. The dog’s sleeping, eating and toilet areas should be the same each day as well as walking, playing and training at the same time each day as well. Additional things to be aware of is how much you are watering and feeding your dog as too much water can lead to accidents.

When you are away from home a leash and collar can be an excellent tool in order to establish boundaries as well as prevent accidents. However when you are at home you should not confine your dog but allow them to interact with the family.

Dogs are fast learners and to instill good behavior they should be rewarded immediately after exhibiting good behavior. Dogs should only be rewarded when they deserve it and not just because they are giving you a cute puppy face. It is possible to train your dog to recognize its name by crouching down and calling its name and then rewarding him or her when they respond. You should try to repeat this as much as possible until your dog comes when you call its’ name.

Common dog behavioral problems such as aggression, biting, chewing, digging, excessive barking, fearful dogs, jumping, pop eating and separation anxiety through training. It is important to remember that training even easy dog training will take time and you need to have patience and be prepared to give your dog lots of attention. The sooner you begin training the easier it will be.

Most canines aren’t just people’s “pets” … They are part of the family. And just like children, dogs require lots of time, care and love to become the happy dog they should become. YOU have to teach them right from wrong in order to be a proud parent. The bottom line to any kind of dog training is patience and consistency. Whether you’re dog is housebreaking or potty training, crate training, obedience training, learning their name, walking on a leash, needs to stop barking, learning tricks or whatever … Dog training basics is a task and a responsibility not to be taken lightly. Dogs like routines, establish a good behavioral routine and you will both be happier. The dog should respond to your command and when you call. Training will aid in keeping your dog and everyone who comes in contact with your dog safe.

You can become overwhelmed if you don’t take control of the situation fast. You are the alpha … the leader of the pack. Try to stay calm. Never reward behavior you don’t want to keep happening. Keep a positive attitude. Be firm and friendly at all times. You and your four legged friend need to have fun when training. By investing the time and energy in properly training will bond you and your dog closer. Expect mistakes and be realistic with your goals and what to expect, you’ll less likely feel like a failure by doing so … you just need to find the right method and then voila … success. You will be happy with positive results and your dog will be happier knowing what is expected of him!

Remember different dogs need different training techniques. What breed of dog you own, their age, personality and characteristics depend on what they learn and how fast they learn them. The technique that works best for most all dogs is the positive reinforcement method. Dog training collars have good intentions, but are dangerous for your dog. The praise technique is much better then creating fear in your dog, plus will make training easy for you and fun for both of you. If you consistently reward and praise your dog, that will motivate the proper behavior. You need to find the technique that works best for you and your pooch, training your dog isn’t just at specific training times but through your day to day activities. Undoing some things that have been done wrong even though you may not have known they were wrong may be where you have to start so your dog can be retrained.

The debate on giving annual vaccinations to ensure good cat health versus the unhealthy implications of inoculation on the pet health has been going on for years. Many veterinarians believe that there is enough evidence to suggest that annual vaccine shots for deadly diseases such as rabies, distemper, and parvovirus, is unnecessary and even harmful in some cases.

There is no doubt vaccinations (immunizations, “shots”) have saved the lives of millions of cats. Before the days of effective vaccines, cats routinely died from panleukopenia (“feline distemper”) and complications of upper respiratory (herpesvirus, calicivirus) infections. Newer vaccines are available to protect against feline leukemia virus infection, feline infectious peritonitis virus and other infections (chlamydia, feline bordetella, ringworm). Current vaccination programs protect our cats (and us) from the threat of rabies.

Cat health related vaccines that have been licensed by the federal government are tested to make sure that they protect pet health against diseases for one year. But, because these vaccines are not tested for long-term pet health side effects nor do they measure the time for which the vaccine will be effective, some studies at universities have suggested that cat health can be protected by these vaccines for many years negating the requirement of annual shots. This also means that pet owners don’t have to waste money on annual inoculations for better pet health and cat health.

What Studies Tell About Pet Health Vaccines
Typically, rabies is the only pet health disease that can pose a threat to people; most vaccines aren’t statutory by law. However, vets recommend annual boosters to guard cat health against those potential diseases that can be life threatening (parvovirus in dogs, distemper, herpes in cats etc). In advent of this new and scientific data that cites annual booster shots leading to certain health risks such as hyperthyroidism in cats, more and more vets are now making changes in their practices. According to a poll, it has been found that the vaccination count has fallen down by 49% than the figure 5 years ago.

It’s safe to assume that no one, including vets, scientists etc, knows the duration of protection cat health vaccines offer. Moreover, vaccine makers don’t wish to spend millions of pounds on proving the duration of their vaccines nor do they wish to test it.

Health Problems Related to Cat Health Vaccines
More studies, off late, are beginning to link many chronic pet health problems to inoculations. Cat health skin related problems such as hair loss, ulcers, lesions, indurations and serious problems such as indurations or hard lumps at and around the site of the injection have often been related to vaccines. While these adverse reactions to pet health vaccines may not pose the threat of an epidemic, it definitely rings an alarm bell and warrants a re-examination of the conventional beliefs related to vaccination practices.

Adverse Reactions to Pet Health Vaccines
Adverse reactions to pet health vaccines include fever, stiffness of joints, lethargy, abdominal tenderness, anaphylactic shock, kidney and liver problems among others.

Animals and our pets can be a great way to reduce our every day stresses and anxieties. It is not easy to deal with our fears and anxieties, however, spending time with animals can makes us feel better. Here is a list of ways of how animals can help us to better cope with our fears, anxieties, and stresses.

Spending time with animals can be a great source of companionship. Whether you have a pet or go to your local shelter, spending time with an animal or pet can help us to feel better. Also many people talk to their pets and this can help us to get their problems out in the open. Animals can be of good company to all of us and can prevent the fear of being alone during our troubles.

Helping animals and other people through community service can be a great way to overcome our anxieties. There are many animals out there who could benefit from your time and talents. Doing something that will help your pet or other animals can give you a source of pride and accomplishment and also can lead to possible friendships with others.

Sitting around and accomplishing nothing will not make things any better whether its dealing with the fear of being alone or something else. Animals can help us to be active and to focus our energies on working with them instead of worrying about things that may or may not happen. This will prevent us from worrying about our current situation.

One of the ways to manage stress is to challenge your negative thinking with positive thoughts. Animals can help us to relax and help us to focus on the good things in our lives. This will help us to focus positively on any situation. Playing with animals can help reduce our fears and anxieties in any situation.

Animals can get our minds off of our problems. A person could do an activity with their pet or other animals that will give them a fresh perspective on things. Spending time with animals will get your mind off of the problem and give you the energy to do other things. Most importantly, playing with animals will give you the self-confidence that you can cope and that you can get through the day.

Remember that there are many ways that animals can reduce the stresses of our every day life, however, they are not a substitute of getting professional help. If your fears and anxieties become overwhelming, then you will need to talk to a counselor. The next time you feel stressed, spend some time with your pet or other animals and you will be better able to cope with your worries.

Sooner or later many parents have to face their child’s wish for its own pet. Whether dog or cat, hamster or pony, the choice for the right pet has to be a conscious one. The contact with and proper keeping of animals in a flat requires knowledge of the diet and character of the animal. To keep a pet means to be ready to carry responsibility.

It is important to daily play with the animal, to feed it and to understand when it does not feel so well. Many children confuse the wish for a pet with the substitute for a toy and are then easily overwhelmed with the keeping of and care for the pet.

This work then becomes the parent’s task, which was not meant to be the purpose. Before parents agree to the wish, it is important to explain to the child what daily responsibility, necessary care and limited free time mean.

Only when the child is fully aware of what it really means to keep an own animal, one should give its OK. If you are not sure right from the start which breed to choose, it is always advisable to have a look into adequate literature on the topic. In addition you can receive good advise from qualified personnel in a pet shop or in an animal shelter. It is important that no hastily decisions are taken, but that it develops into a relaxed and joyful undertaking.

Working animal

We will probably never know for sure, what the very first coming together of pet and man was like. Pets originally derive from wild animals. Man’s agenda with breeding animals was to easily gain sustainable access to products and raw materials for food development. Man easily understood the different possibilities in which animals could be of use and he utilized the drought power of many animals.

Horses for example were used as working animals in forest- or field works.

We know that dogs are the best snoopers and track seekers. The most important is their nose, because their scenting ability is a lot better than that of man. Dogs are not only used to track down drugs or explosives, but also to find people who have been buried by an avalanche and are lying meters in the snow.

In science animals are mainly used to have the tolerance of new medicines tested. Only since the last century they have been used for animal experiments for tests in medicine but also cosmetics.

The Pet and animal guide is not aiming at experts but is rather a source of information for the average animals friend. The site is meant to provide you with information on the variety of species that can be kept as pets. This portal is for the amateur but also for the passionate animal lover and contains many pictures, articles and portraits of the different breeds.

Hardly any other topic offers you this great possibility to share your experiences with other people and to support each other with tips and ideas.
